Privacy Policy

The data controller for sociallinks.dev is Byte Size Curiosity LLC, a New York limited liability company, mailing address 41 State Street, Suite 112, Albany, NY 12207. We also operate YouTube Transcript (youtubetranscript.dev), and the two sites share one account system.

• Account: your email address, how you sign in (email code, password or Google) and, if you set one, your password — stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider.
• Lookups and credits: the profile URLs you submit while signed in, and a history of credit changes (starter credits, lookups, refunds and purchases) with dates and balances.
• Payments: the pack you bought, amount, currency and Stripe's reference numbers. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never receive them.
• Technical: your IP address, used for rate limits and to count free lookups for signed-out visitors, and standard server logs.

A lookup processes publicly available information about the creator behind the profile you submit: names, handles, bios, profile links, follower counts and similar details returned by search providers and public link-in-bio pages. We don't access private accounts, private messages or anything behind a login.

Lookup results are cached in server memory for up to an hour so repeat lookups are fast, and are not stored in a database. If you are a creator and have questions about how your public information appears, contact privacy@youtubetranscript.dev.

• To run lookups, show results and keep your credit balance and usage history
• To sign you in and keep your account secure
• To process purchases, refunds and billing questions
• To prevent fraud and abuse, including rate limits and free-lookup limits
• To send essential service emails, such as sign-in codes, confirmation and password-reset links

We don't sell your personal information. We share only what each provider needs to run its part of the service:

• Supabase — accounts, sign-in and our database (credit balances, usage history, purchases, rate-limit counters)
• Stripe — payment processing
• Serper — web search; receives search queries built from the profile you submit (such as the handle and creator name)
• OpenRouter and TypeSafe — AI verification; receive the public profile details found for a lookup to judge which candidate accounts belong to the creator
• Render — hosting and server logs
• DataFast — website visit statistics (pages viewed, referrer, country, device type)
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google

We may also disclose information when required by law, or with your consent.

• Account information: while your account is open
• Usage history and purchase records: while your account is open, and longer where tax or accounting law requires
• Rate-limit counters: they expire automatically, between one minute and 30 days
• Cached lookup results: up to one hour, in memory only

Data is encrypted in transit, credit and history tables are reachable only by our servers, and passwords are never stored in plain text. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.

You can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that's wrong
• Delete your account and its data
• Stop any non-essential emails

Because the account is shared, deleting it removes your access to both sociallinks.dev and YouTube Transcript. Email privacy@youtubetranscript.dev and we'll respond within 30 days.

We use the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and a first-party cookie from DataFast to count visits. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

sociallinks.dev is not intended for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are covered by the providers' standard contractual safeguards.

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced by email or on the site before they take effect.
